We offer various diagnostic services at Animal Medical Clinic. In many cases, a physical exam is just the first step to building your pet’s health history and diagnosing illness. With our in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy capabilities, we can better evaluate your pet's overall condition.

Digital X-ray gives us the ability to check for orthopedic problems such as arthritis and hip dysplasia, and issues concerning the lungs and heart. If your pet is limping or having trouble standing up, we might recommend X-rays to find the cause.

Ultrasound aids in the detection and diagnosis of abdominal problems, such as:

  • Fluid buildup in the abdomen
  • Bladder stones
  • Foreign bodies in the intestine

Ultrasound is designed to reveal soft tissue, not skeletal, problems. It is non-invasive and painless, and can reveal a remarkable amount of information about your pet’s internal organs.

Animal Medical Clinic has in-house testing capabilities that allow for virtually immediate results. Along with helping us establish a baseline for your pet, we can also detect illness at an earlier, more treatable stage.

We recommend that senior pets see us more frequently for blood work so we can keep closer tabs on their health. The geriatric profile for seniors includes a chemistry panel, complete blood count, thyroid testing, and urinalysis, which help us check for abnormal values and organ functioning.

We use our endoscope to visualize the gastrointestinal system from within—no invasive surgery necessary. With this tool, we can safely see inside the stomach and intestines and check for ulcers, foreign bodies, and tumors.
