Dr. Samantha Keenan
Dr. Samantha Keenan grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and attended Delaware
Valley College. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science,
she took a year off before attending veterinary school. She headed north
to Prince Edward Island where she started at the Atlantic Veterinary College
in 2000. While in veterinary school she became the student supervisor for
the school’s humane dog training program at the local shelter. For
one summer, Dr. Keenan trained every dog at the shelter awaiting adoption. Throughout
the school year, she continued to train the dog using clicker training, oversee
other student trainers, and help the public with their dog adoption decisions. From
this job, she discovered her interest in animal behavior.
Dr. Keenan started her veterinary career at the Animal Medical Clinic in June 2005. She moved here with her Border collie and her four cats. Her daughter Rylan was born in August and keeps Dr. Keenan very busy.
